Eating out in Cape Town

A chain of restaurants that have this weird "high-energy" theme. Sort of a cross between a warehouse, Mad Max, and Chili's-like decor. We had decent pasta dishes (one step above Olive Garden).

Dros
Chain of pub-like restaurants. Decent fish & chips (or in our case, grilled fish & salad). I just ate the chips off of Becky's 'Monkey Gland Burger'.

Also in Victoria Wharf, medium priced but small portions of sushi. Also a good place to buy fish for home cooking.

Calamari in a Cape Malay spicy sauce, served in a copper stirfry pan. We didn't try the sushi but it looked good with decent sized portions. They too sell fresh fish (whole, cuts, or filets).

Mugg & Bean, everywhere

They have a really yummy frozen mocha drink with a huge scoop of ice cream. Plus the one at Victoria Wharf has 10 free minutes of wireless internet access per day (otherwise it's R50/hr). All of the M&Bs always seem to be packed and crowded.

Huge and yummy portions. Upscale and cozy but relaxed atmosphere with music like Enya, Dido, etc. playing in the background. There is also an outside cafe/pub that serves pizza. Becky noted that I spent more time petting the very friendly cat (named Thomasina) than her.
